Visit to Dialogue Hub

I visited Dialogue Hub on York Road, Waterloo. This hidden gem is helping to address the accessibility and inequalities faced by people with visual and hearing impairments by providing employment and tackling stigma. The British Sign Language café enables customers to interact with deaf barristers. The other element of the Hub is the sensory experience which is set in total darkness. I was led with a small group of other visitors on a tour, visiting key London landmarks. This tour really pushed me out of my comfort zone and it forces you to engage with all your other senses, navigating around without your sight. Our visually impaired tour guide was so reassuring and made the whole experience worthwhile. Please look them up online for information on how to book or if you know anyone in receipt of Universal Credit looking for a role. I’m looking forward to working with the founders to help find a more permanent home for this fantastic initiative.
